Dozens of ladies and gents enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in a beautiful marquee in the Tented Village this afternoon, but the icing on the cake was the chance to meet 4 of our star players. Stefan Edberg, Li Na, Caroline Wozniacki and Mark Philippoussis (definitely the ladies’ favourite!) all attended to chat with guests and take photos, before answering a few questions about their lives off the court. When asked what he enjoys doing in his spare time, Edberg said, “I spend most of my time in Sweden, I have 2 kids to take care of and a wife to take care of me. I play a lot of sports – tennis and squash mainly – my lifestyle is very different now.”Li Na was asked about her beauty routine off the court and laughed, saying, “I don’t really have time for that, I do my make-up in the locker-room.”Philippoussis was sheepish when talking about his involvement in the TV dating show, The Age of Love, saying, “it was definitely an experience!” He added, “I thought I’d understand women more after the show but I’m more confused than ever!”Wozniacki listed “seeing friends and family, reading, watching movies, and shopping” as her favourite pastimes, but regretted that she was too busy to shop here in Hong Kong. “Hopefully I’ll get a chance to shop in Hong Kong one day!” she added wistfully.A lucky draw was next on the agenda, with the players calling out the numbers – the lucky winners received autographed racquets and had their photo taken with their tennis idols. Each winner said they were thrilled to have won, with one saying they plan on hanging their personalised racquet on their wall! Each guest at the afternoon tea received a goody bag packed full of luxury Elemis products, as did the players, who have also been using the lotions and serums in the locker rooms. |
